Hello everyone, Just got cleared hard drive and don't have any CD's that came with computer.

I went to HP web site and downloaded most of the drivers but unfortunately cant get one for Ethernet card. There is also a few components installed on this computer that hasn't been recognized by Windows XP. It seems to me that I don't have any dedicated cards except Video (which i already found driver for). But I have no idea how to find out what kind of network card do i have. My guess was that since there are no dedicated cards installed - from list of i decided that it has to be one integrated witch again from would be only Which when installed doesn't work.

It says that something is not found. Thank you everyone for your time.

I looked in device manager and there is five different devices that has not been recognized by Windows XP. One of them I figured was some type of chip which I found and successfully install driver for. Then Network Card which does show VEN_8086 but after driver installation could not find any devices installed on this computer. I went to Best buy and solved this problem with new 'Open Item' network card for $9 which worked perfect! But after installation of it and connection to the Internet I tried to play movie (this whole setup was initially for home entertainment system) and realize that I have no sound card installed. So three other unrecognized devises was two unknown devices and a sound card. So here we go again.

I went to HP web site and downloaded all available Sound Drivers. One of them was not successful but another seems like worked but after reboot still could not find driver for it.

When i open that driver file it would show message that New Device Has been found in the clock corner and asking me to restart. After I do so new device require to install driver which system does not see. It is driving me nuts already! My only guess right now is that all of this problems because of old Windows XP (computer came with Vista) plus it is international edition which is all in different language but that is all I have. So probably I would have to find newer Windows (Vista or 7) and will try work it out this way.

It is working now!!! Rotor123 You are saver! After installing that XP update that you posted I restarted computer and installed that driver and right away could hear it working! Before when I tried to install it same driver it would say that no components could be found on this computer and no driver to be installed. So it is complete system now!

Right now I only have Ethernet card not recognized which is not a problem any more with my other new Network card installed. Problem solved! Thank you again everybody! You are pros!!!
